Summer Programs: June 4 - August 27

 

Registration Process:

1. The Summer Registration link will allow you to register for multiple programs at once  (you will check the boxes for ALL of the programs you’d like to register for). This will take about 10 minutes to complete. 

2. You will use the same link to register for all of your programs. 

3. If you register for a program that has a waitlist, we will let you know. 

4. All families will be invoiced for programs at a later date. You will receive an invoice in your email, at which point you may choose to pay online or via check. 

5. Email Madison at mmcginty@totallink2.org with problems or questions, to learn about our financial assistance, or for support with registration.

Accountability Check-In - Virtual

This program is facilitated by Kasey Atkison and meets every Tuesday of the session.

 

Are you looking to set and reach new goals? Would having a team of people support you help you achieve your dreams? This may just be the class for you! In Accountability Check-in, you will learn how to set and reach personal goals with the support of our accountability coach Kasey and a group of your TotalLink peers. Your goal(s) may focus on health, daily habits, relationships, life skills, or something important to you! Our accountability coach will work with you to set achievable benchmarks and track your progress. At our weekly check-ins, you will report your achievements and be praised by your peers and the accountability coach for your hard work! The group will reach out to each other during the week to provide encouragement and support. This class is a great opportunity to grow as individuals with the caring support of the community.

Body, Heart, & Mind

This program is taught by Jordan Andrews and meets every Tuesday of the session.

 

Body, Heart, & Mind is a safe place to learn about our physical bodies, who we are, and what we believe. We will cover topics on sexual health and reproduction, our physical anatomy, healthy communication, gender identity, developing healthy relationships, body image, physical attraction, consent, sexual harassment, self-advocacy, romantic relationships, etc. This is a space to better understand who we are as people and about relationships (friendships, employer/employee, intimate, etc.). Join us for a time to connect, reflect, and access sexual education topics. 

 

The content of this program will come from the ElevateUs Curriculum, a sexual education curriculum designed for people with developmental disabilities. If you have any questions about the program's content and curriculum, please reach out to Madison at mmcginty@totallink2.org

Community Life - Featuring Total Bowlers (now offered weekly)

This program will be offered weekly on Tuesdays and will be facilitated by Madison McGinty. Participants will engage in community activities, and on alternating weeks, they will go to Pinstripes to have a meal together and go bowling. We will have thoughtful conversations about topics that are important to our young adults. This may include current events, news, advocacy, etc. The cost of the program includes bowling and food at Pinstripes. Participants will pay for the cost of other outings during Community Life. 

 

The Community Life program offers an opportunity for you to spend time in the community with the support of facilitators and volunteers. Young adults will learn how to research, plan, and coordinate attending events with their friends in the community. Events may include concerts at the park or new experiences like spin classes, cooking classes, or work in ceramics. Our goal is to make meaningful connections and empower individuals to immerse themselves in our community. We will discuss and practice the necessary skills needed to attend events and select events or classes that are enjoyable and relevant. This fun program enhances inclusion, independence, and community connection.

Inspiration for your art will come from our shared and personal ideas, demonstrations, and exploring the work of other artists. Students will be exposed to a wide range of art mediums.

Total Fitness 

Movement, friends, and fun! If you enjoy getting some movement, hanging with friends, and talking about ways to be healthy, join us for our Total Fitness program at Techny Prairie Activity Center! 

 

With the support of a community coach (a TotalLink facilitator), participants will take the W.O.W. (Wonderful Overall Workout) class, walk the track, talk about fitness goals, stretch, and debrief together. This program supports participants' well-being and healthy lifestyle while also providing the skills needed to independently access our community workout facilities. The W.O.W. class is a low-impact class that focuses on light cardio, strength, and balance work. Participants will pay $12 for the W.O.W. class upon arrival.

Yoga Nidra - Virtual

This program meets every Wednesday of the session and is facilitated by Hope Barnes. 

 

This is a unique Yoga practice focused on breathing, meditation, and awareness. You will need quiet and space to lie down. There are no yoga poses as the whole practice is in Shavasana, a resting position. Yoga Nidra is known to improve the functioning of the nervous system and decrease anxiety and improve your mood.

Whether you can carry a tune or not, we're all stars during Sarah’s Karaoke Meetup, so join us! The mission of Sarah's Karaoke Meetup is to bring people who love music together for singing, friendship, and fun!

heART Words is an inclusive community for writers of all abilities. Through inspiring verbal and visual prompts, Jamie and Sam will encourage self-expression of emotions, courage, imagination, experience, and heart. Group members are encouraged to share what they have written with the group.

SATURDAY 


Girlfriends Group & WerQ (now in person)

This program meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month and is facilitated by Jordan Andrews. Jessie Benson is the facilitator for WerQ.

If you enjoy making new friends, sharing your thoughts and feelings about friends and relationships, creating things (arts & crafts, cooking), playing games, or volunteering with fun-loving girlfriends, then this group is for you!!  This is an opportunity for a small group of young women to develop and strengthen friendships, gain confidence in community settings, and create new friendships. There will be a focus on fostering connections among group members in and outside of scheduled group meetings. 

 

WerQ is a fun dance class that is accessible to all dance abilities and levels. Jessie Benson, a certified WerQ instructor and special educator, will lead WerQ.

Next Chapter Book Club+

​This program meets on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. Our Next Chapter Book Club Plus includes reading together from 1:00-2:30 PM, followed by a physical activity from 2:30 - 3:30 PM. 

 

Expect to have a lot of fun as we dive into a story together and discuss its characters and plot. We read a book together as a group (all reading levels welcomed), taking turns. Our facilitators use strategies that are inclusive to all. Thank you to our partner, UPS for DownS, for supporting this program.

 

The physical activity, facilitated by Erin Murray, will feature an alternation of both Sculpt and yoga. Sculpt is a form of exercise that uses resistance or weight to strengthen muscles. Erin is a certified yoga and Sculpt instructor.

This program is facilitated by Danny Fay and Sid Veeravali. On the 1st Saturday, the group will enjoy a night out in the community at some of their favorite places- Par King, Dave and Busters, trampoline park, etc. Participants and facilitators will eat at a restaurant near the activity and then drive together to the activity.

One-On-One & Semi-Private Coaching

TotalLink2 Community is proud to offer one-on-one individual and semi-private (2-3 people) coaching in a variety of areas. This is an opportunity to work privately with a coach on a goal that is important to you.

 

Coaching areas may include but are not limited to art, cooking, yoga, technology, life skills, building a meaningful schedule, meal preparation, and budgeting.

Program Cancellation: 

We ask that participants/families inform Teri or Madison about missing a program date 72 hours before the scheduled program in order to receive credit towards future programming.
