Please note, some programs have been adjusted due to COVID safety measures.

 

"Fall Into Your Dreams" this fall by joining our educational and social programs.

As always, we are happy to assist you with the registration process- just contact Teri.

Do you have a specific skill you'd like to work on? We'd be delighted to speak with you about 1:1 coaching opportunities. We are always looking for ways to enhance our programs.

COVID guidelines are constantly changing, and we are always staying flexible with them. Please see our new safety guidelines, which are based on CDC recommendations, local school district recommendations, and participant, family, and facilitator input.

 

The TotalLink updated safety guidelines include:

  • All participants must wear masks while at programs.

  • Rooms will be sanitized before and after classes.

  • Increased hand washing & sanitizing

  • Stay home if you are experiencing COVID-like symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills, headache, sore throat, stomachache or loss of taste or smell, been exposed to a confirmed or suspected COVID case, or recently traveled to a current COVID hotspot. Financial Wellness:

Let’s talk about achieving your financial wellness goals! Join us for a free virtual 6-week Financial Wellness focusing on Financial Wellness workshop in partnership with the National Disability Institute (NDI). You will learn new ways to build skills in self-advocacy and money management from experts with NDI. In order to get the most out of the program, participants and families are encouraged to attend together.

Virtual Karaoke & Game Time Meetup:

This program is facilitated by Joan Martin and virtually meets on Fridays from 4 to 5 pm.  The first half of the program will be for karaoke, and the second half will be for playing games. 

 

Whether you can carry a tune or not, we're all stars during Karaoke Meetup, so come join us! The mission of Sarah's Karaoke Meetup is to bring people who love music together for singing, friendship, and fun! 

Game Time involves a variety of interactive games, virtual and live. Enjoy Bingo, Charades, Ice Breaker Games, Trivia, Scattergories, 20 Questions, House Party, and many more of your favorites!!!

Learning Labs

 

Accountability Check-In: Virtual

This program is facilitated by Kasey Atkison and meets every Tuesday of the session.

 

Are you looking to set and reach new goals this Fall? Would having a team of people support you help you achieve your dreams? This may just be the class for you! At Accountability Check-in, you will learn how to set and reach personal goals with the support of our accountability coach Kasey and a group of your TotalLink peers. Your goal(s) may focus on health, daily habits, relationships, life skills, or something else that is important to you! Our accountability coach will work with you to set achievable benchmarks and track your progress. At our weekly check-ins, you will report your achievements and be praised by your peers and the accountability coach for your hard work! The group will reach out to each other during the week to provide encouragement and support. This class is a great opportunity to grow as individuals with the caring support of the community.

heART Words & Dinner:

UPDATE:  This program will occur in person and will follow all safety guidelines. Instead of going out to dinner, we will order food on DoorDash for delivery and eat while socially distanced at the church.

The program facilitator will send you a group order link so you can select your meal on DoorDash, either on the app on your phone or on the computer. TotalLink will order and pay for the food and invoice each participant later.

 

Dinner will be delivered at 5:00 pm. heART Words will follow, starting at 6:30 pm.

This program is facilitated by Jamie Weller and Pam Tokowitz, meeting on the 3rd Friday of the month.

 

heART Words is an inclusive community for writers of all abilities. Through inspiring verbal and visual prompts, Jamie and Pam will encourage self-expression of emotions, courage, imagination, experience, and heart. Group members are encouraged to share what they have written with the group.

ArtLab for EveryONE: 

This creative and hands-on workshop is ideal for young adults who want to discover and expand their artistic talents and those who already enjoy making art. Inspiration for your art will come from our shared and personal ideas, demonstrations, and exploring the work of other artists. Students will be exposed to a wide range of art mediums.

Yoga Nidra: Virtual

This program meets every Wednesday of the session.

 

This is a unique Yoga practice with a focus on breathing, meditation, and awareness. You will need quiet and space to lie down. There are no yoga poses as the whole practice is in Shavasana, a resting position. Yoga Nidra is known to improve the functioning of the nervous system and decrease anxiety and improve your mood.

Yoga

Yoga will be facilitated by Pam Tokowitz, a certified Yoga instructor. There is a focus on teaching yoga concepts such as breathing, balance, strength, and flexibility. Learning poses and salutations will also be included.

This program is facilitated by Kasey Ockerlund and meets every Thursday of the session.

 

Join us for a virtual Dinner With Friends, in which we will enjoy facilitated conversation while eating dinner together via Zoom. Come to the meeting with your meal and be ready to share what you made and something about it. Most of all, be ready for some great dinner conversation!

Next Chapter Book Club Plus:

This program is facilitated by Joan Martin, meeting on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. Our NextChapter Book Club Plus includes reading together from 1:00-2:30 PM followed by physical activity from 2:30 - 3:30 PM.

 

Expect to have a lot of fun as we dive into a story together and discuss its characters and plot. We read a book together as a group (all reading levels welcomed), taking turns. Our facilitators use strategies that are inclusive to all. Thank you to our partner, UPS for DownS, for supporting this program.

Body, Heart, & Mind: 

This program is taught by Madison McGinty, who is certified in both sexual education and special education and meets every Monday of the session.

 

Body, Heart, & Mind is a safe place to learn about our physical bodies, who we are, and what we believe. We will cover topics around sexual health and reproduction, our physical anatomy, healthy communication, gender identity, developing healthy relationships, body image, physical attraction, consent, sexual harassment, self-advocacy, romantic relationships, and more. This is a space to gain a greater understanding of who we are as people and about different kinds of relationships (friendships, employer/employee, intimate, etc.). Join us for a time to connect, reflect, and access sexual education topics. 

 

The content of this program will come from the ElevateUs Curriculum, a sexual education curriculum designed for people with developmental disabilities.

Social Connections

 

Maker's Lab:

This program is facilitated by Joan Martin and meets the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.

 

Maker’s Lab is a creative learning environment where young adults create their own products using various tools and materials. Each session includes a demonstration of skills to model, experiment, and learn at their own pace. Young adults will have the opportunity to share their ideas, skills, and talents with other makers on individual and collaborative projects. Maker’s Lab participants will learn about quality control, branding, marketing, and packaging through discussions, hands-on projects, and mentorship.

Community Life:

This program will be offered on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month and will be facilitated by Madison McGinty.

 

The Community Life program offers an opportunity for you to spend time in the community with the support of facilitators and volunteers. Young adults will learn how to research, plan, and coordinate attending events with their friends in the community. Events may include concerts at the park, or new experiences like spin classes, cooking classes, or work in ceramics. Our goal is to make meaningful connections and empower individuals to immerse themselves in our community. We will discuss and practice the necessary skills needed to attend events and select events or classes that are enjoyable and relevant. This fun program enhances inclusion, independence, and community connection.

UPDATE: Thank you for your continued flexibility and patience as we navigate family feedback and safety of our programs. Saturday Night With The Guys:

Guys Night Out: 

On the 1st Saturday, the group will enjoy a night out in the community at some of their favorite places- Par King, Dave and Busters, trampoline park, etc. The "guys" and facilitators will eat at TotalLink and then drive together to their activity. 


UPDATE: Instead of going out to dinner, we will order food on DoorDash for delivery and eat while socially distanced at the community space at TotalLink (downstairs). Dinner will be delivered at 5 pm. We will eat together then drive to the activity selected.

Guys Night In: 

On the 3rd Saturday,  there will be a focus on making friends and exploring common interests. Regular get-togethers foster a sense of community, friendship, and confidence. At each meeting, there will be a topic of discussion (friendship, relationships, etc), dinner, and gameplay.  This program is facilitated by Jonathan Rauwerda.

UPDATE: We will order pizza together, then walk over to Lou Malnati's to pick up when it's ready and eat while socially distanced at the church. Dinner will be delivered at 5 pm, followed by our meeting and discussion together.

WerQ

WerQ is a fun dance class that is accessible to all dance abilities and levels. Jessie Benson, a certified WerQ instructor, and special educator will lead WerQ.

Girlfriends' Group

This program is facilitated by Madison McGinty and meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month.

If you enjoy making new friends, sharing your thoughts and feelings about friends and relationships, creating things (arts & crafts, cooking), playing games, or volunteering with fun-loving girlfriends, then this group is for you!!  This is an opportunity for a small group of young women to develop and strengthen friendships, gain confidence in community settings, and create new friendships. There will be a focus on fostering connections among group members in and outside of scheduled group meetings.

TotallyLinked: A TotalLink Podcast

 

TotalLink 2 Community, in partnership with Edge of Orion, is inviting YOU to join our first-ever podcast called “TotallyLinked!”

 

Taught by Orion Couling. This podcast will be the final project for this Fall’s public speaking class. Eight weeks of instruction and crafting a 5-minute speech about a topic you care passionately about and will be available wherever podcasts are found. Share your voice with your community and the whole world!

One-On-One & Semi-Private Coaching

 

TotalLink2 Community is proud to offer one-on-one individual and semi-private (2-3 people) coaching in a variety of areas. This is an opportunity to work privately with a coach on a goal that is important to you.

 

Coaching areas may include but are not limited to art, cooking, yoga, technology, life skills, building a meaningful schedule, meal preparation, and budgeting.

Program Cancellation: 

We ask that participants/families inform Teri or Madison about missing a program date 72 hours before the scheduled program in order to receive credit towards future programming.

 

You may use your credits to pay for programs.
