As always, we are happy to assist you with the registration process- just contact Teri at trosenberg@totallink2.org.  

 

COVID guidelines are constantly changing, and we are always staying flexible with them. Please see our safety guidelines, which are based on CDC recommendations, local school district recommendations, and participant, family, and facilitator input.

 

The TotalLink updated safety guidelines include:

  • All participants must wear masks while at programs.

  • Rooms will be sanitized before and after classes.

  • Increased hand washing & sanitizing

  • Stay home if you are experiencing COVID-like symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills, headache, sore throat, stomachache, or loss of taste or smell, been exposed to a confirmed or suspected COVID case, or recently traveled to a current COVID hotspot. Learning Labs

 

Accountability Check-in - virtual

This program is facilitated by Kasey Atkison and meets every Tuesday of the session.

 

Are you looking to set and reach new goals this Winter? Would having a team of people support you help you achieve your dreams? This may just be the class for you! At Accountability Check-in, you will learn how to set and reach personal goals with the support of our accountability coach Kasey and a group of your TotalLink peers. Your goal(s) may focus on health, daily habits, relationships, life skills, or something else that is important to you! 

 

Our accountability coach will work with you to set achievable benchmarks and track your progress. At our weekly check-ins, you will report your achievements and be praised by your peers and the accountability coach for your hard work! The group will reach out to each other during the week to provide encouragement and support. This class is a great opportunity to grow as individuals with the caring support of the community.

ArtLab for EveryONE: 

This creative and hands-on workshop is ideal for young adults who want to discover and expand their artistic talents and those who already enjoy making art. Inspiration for your art will come from our shared and personal ideas, demonstrations, and exploring the work of other artists. Participants will be exposed to a wide range of new skills and art mediums.

Body, Heart, & Mind: 

This program is taught by Madison McGinty and meets every Tuesday of the session.

 

Body, Heart, & Mind is a safe place to learn about our physical bodies, who we are, and what we believe. We will cover topics around sexual health and reproduction, our physical anatomy, healthy communication, gender identity, developing healthy relationships, body image, physical attraction, consent, sexual harassment, self-advocacy, romantic relationships, and more. This is a space to gain a greater understanding of who we are as people and about different kinds of relationships (friendships, employer/employee, intimate, etc.). Join us for a time to connect, reflect, and access sexual education topics. 

 

The content of this program will come from the ElevateUs Curriculum, a sexual education curriculum designed for people with developmental disabilities.

Body, Heart & Mind Family Information Session - virtual 

 

This parent information session is for any parent or participant that is interested in learning more about the content, curriculum, and structure. This session will occur before the program start date to give you time to decide if this class is right for you.

Body, Heart, & Mind Family Support Sessions - virtual 

These support sessions are facilitated by Madison McGinty and Janice Weinstein. The sessions are for parents and guardians of registered class participants. This is a safe place to learn about the content we have covered in class and ask any specific questions you may have. If your young adult is part of this class, you will receive email invitations to these support sessions. Registration is not needed.

Dinner & heART Words:

This program is facilitated by Jamie Weller and Sam Biggio, meeting on the 3rd Friday of the month. 

 

This program will occur in person and will follow all safety guidelines. Dinner Options: Participants have the option to either prepay for dinner OR bring their own dinner. If you would like for dinner to be provided at the program, please select ‘Provided Dinner & heART Words’ during the registration process. ​

 

heART Words is an inclusive community for writers of all abilities. Through inspiring verbal and visual prompts, Jamie and Sam will encourage self-expression of emotions, courage, imagination, experience, and heart. Group members are encouraged to share what they have written with the group.

Girlfriends Group - virtual 

This program is facilitated by Madison McGinty and meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month.

If you enjoy making new friends, sharing your thoughts and feelings about friends and relationships, creating things (arts & crafts), playing games, or volunteering with fun-loving girlfriends, then this group is for you!!  This is an opportunity for a small group of young women to develop and strengthen friendships, gain confidence, and create new friendships. There will be a focus on fostering connections among group members in and outside of scheduled group meetings.

Maker's Lab:

This program is facilitated by Joan Martin and meets on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.

 

Maker’s Lab is a creative learning environment where young adults create their own products using various tools and materials. Each session includes a demonstration of skills to model, experiment, and learn at their own pace. Young adults will have the opportunity to share their ideas, skills, and talents with other makers on individual and collaborative projects. Maker’s Lab participants will learn about quality control, branding, marketing, and packaging through discussions, hands-on projects, and mentorship.

Social Connections

 

Community Life:

This program will be offered on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month and will be facilitated by Madison McGinty.

 

The Community Life program offers an opportunity for you to spend time in the community with the support of facilitators and volunteers. Young adults will learn how to research, plan, and coordinate attending events with their friends in the community. Events may include concerts at the park, going to the Kindness Connection, touring the Grove Nature Preserve,  or new experiences like spin classes, cooking classes, and more. Our goal is to make meaningful connections and empower individuals to immerse themselves in our community. We will discuss and practice the necessary skills needed to attend events and select events or classes that are enjoyable and relevant. This fun program enhances inclusion, independence, and community connection.

Whether you can carry a tune or not, we're all stars during Karaoke Meetup, so come join us! The mission of Sarah's Karaoke Meetup is to bring people who love music together for singing, friendship, and fun!

Next Chapter Book Club+

This program is facilitated by Joan Martin, meeting on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. Our Next Chapter Book Club Plus includes reading together from 1:00-2:30 PM followed by physical activity from 2:30 - 3:30 PM.

 

Expect to have a lot of fun as we dive into a story together and discuss its characters and plot. We read a book together as a group (all reading levels welcomed), taking turns. Our facilitators use strategies that are inclusive to all. Thank you to our partner, UPS for DownS, for supporting this program.

 

During the in-person Next Chapter Book Club, we follow all safety guidelines.

Saturday Night With The Guys

This program meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month.

 

Guys Night Out: 

On the 1st Saturday, the group will enjoy a night out in the community at some of their favorite places- Par King, Dave and Busters, trampoline park, etc. The "guys" and facilitators will eat at TotalLink and then drive together to their activity. 

 

Instead of going out to dinner, we will order food for delivery and eat while socially distanced at the community space at TotalLink (downstairs). Dinner will be delivered at 5 pm. We will eat together then drive to the activity selected. Dinner Options: Participants have the option to either prepay for dinner OR bring their own dinner. If you would like for dinner to be provided at the program, please select ‘Dinner Provided & Guys Night Out’ during the registration process. ​

Guys Night In: 

On the 3rd Saturday,  there will be a focus on making friends and exploring common interests. Regular get-togethers foster a sense of community, friendship, and confidence. At each meeting, there will be a topic of discussion (friendship, relationships, etc), dinner, and gameplay.  This program is facilitated by Jonathan Rauwerda.

We will order pizza together, then walk over to Lou Malnati's to pick up when it's ready, and eat while socially distanced at the church. Dinner is covered in the cost of the program.

Yoga - virtual 

Yoga will be facilitated by Pam Tokowitz, a certified Yoga instructor. There is a focus on teaching yoga concepts such as breathing, balance, strength, and flexibility. Learning poses and salutations will also be included.

Yoga Nidra - virtual

This program is facilitated by Hope Barnes and meets every Wednesday of the session.

 

This is a unique Yoga practice with a focus on breathing, meditation, and awareness. You will need quiet and space to lie down. There are no yoga poses as the whole practice is in Shavasana, a resting position. Yoga Nidra is known to improve the functioning of the nervous system and decrease anxiety and improve your mood.

Program Cancellation: 

We ask that participants/families inform Teri or Madison about missing a program date 72 hours before the scheduled program in order to receive credit towards future programming.

 

You may use your credits to pay for programs. Remember to click on "pay by check" in the registration process, and you will receive an adjusted invoice. If you have questions about your credits or invoices, please reach out to Stacy Merrigan at smerrigan@totallink2.org.

 

We are available to provide technical support. If you would benefit from a Zoom tutorial, please reach out to Teri Rosenberg at trosenberg@totallink2.org. We can provide you with step-by-step directions and/or a personal tutorial via phone.
